The Beneteau Owners Lake Tour is a flotilla exclusively
for Great Lakes Beneteau sailors.
The BOLT is not a race, it is a casually organized group sail, with
relaxed cruising to our destinations, & enjoying each port together
as a group.
The flotilla is designed to give Great Lakes Beneteau Owners a glimpse
into the cruising lifestyle, by living aboard and experiencing the fellowship
of other Beneteau sailors.
From the arranged starting point, we will proceed to a variety of area
ports and islands, and on the weekend, participants will take part in
the owner's rendezvous sponsored by Beneteau USA and hosted by Freeman/Eckley,
our area Beneteau dealer.
For 2005, the flotilla will be divided into two separate week long trips,
with the Beneteau rally being held on the weekend between them.
As is the case with most sailing tours, the BOLT is a flotilla of friends
going on a trip together, and as the captain & crew of each yacht
are responsible for all matters involving safety & seamanship, it
is the decision of each captain & crew to proceed from one port
to another, or to remain in harbor rather than continue with the tour
as scheduled.
Although we would definitely prefer that participation of each yacht
in the BOLT would be for the full trip, being realistic, we are open
to situations where people might not be able to remove themselves from
work & may only be able to join the fleet for a limited time.
There are no entry forms or registration fees to participate in the
BOLT, however, we do ask for the co-operation of those who participate
to indicate their intention to join the flotilla, so that necessary
marina reservations, etc, can be made for the group.
It is also requested that all BOLT yachts fly a "Club Beneteau"
burgee during the BOLT & if anyone should need one, please let us
know.
We look very forward to spending time with those of you who will be
sailing in the BOLT flotilla this summer & also to seeing everyone
again at our annual Beneteau Owner's Rendezvous.
Regards,
Paul & Mary Ouellette,
S/V Winpipe.
